Solution Building

Detailed research and mapping covered high calibre potential candidates with experience in research organisations, higher education, the public sector, defence related consultancies and DST partner organisations internationally.

Our team reached out to individuals across these networks, engaging in dialogue to ascertain advice and recommendations of potential candidates, who were then encouraged to apply and were interviewed by Fisher Leadership consultants to evaluate their fit with the culture and requirements of the client.

To further encourage strong potential female candidates, additional contact and dialogue was made, offering a confidential discussion with key leaders, The successful candidate where appropriate.

The long list of 14 candidates included three candidates from the academic arena, one from defence, four from research/industry and six internal candidates; two were women.

The Outcome

The interview process also involved conversations with a range of defence and government stakeholders and a presentation on the candidates’ vision for delivery of the client’s latest science and technology strategy.

Two successful candidates were selected as the Chiefs of Division.
