Selection Assessment

The Client

​Our client is an ASX50 global leader in premium branded coated and painted steel products with a strong presence in engineered steel buildings. The organisation has more than 100 facilities in 18 countries, employing over 16,000 serving thousands of customers.

The Opportunity

The client has sought to partner with CLA to access a range of psychometric tools to be used for purposes including recruitment, selection and leadership development. ​

The organisation sought to gain more psychological rigour, consistency, value-for-money and positive candidate and leader experience through using validated tools and having CLA’s team of organisational psychologists support with the interpretation and debrief. 

 

Methodology

Over 20 candidates have completed psychometric assessments in the last 6 months as part of recruitment and selection processes at the Vice President, Executive, State/General Manager and Manager levels. ​

  • Tools – robust measures of personality, leadership and work preferences have been used to support rigorous candidate evaluation and recruitment processes. Tools that have particularly resonated with hiring managers in terms of the insights gained include the Hogan suite of products. ​
  • Candidate Experience – all candidates, regardless of their success in the recruitment process have received comprehensive feedback to support their self-awareness and development. ​

The Outcome​

Following our work thus far with the client, CLA have been asked to support with the creation of global guidelines for best practice use of assessment tools for various purposes (recruitment, selection, development, and team performance).
